Wojciech Kruczek

Wojciech Kruczek graduated from Brzewski Music School in Warsaw (named as ‘The school of talents’) in 2014, and Bachelor Studies at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in 2017 in class of Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just. Currently, he is a Master Degree student at the same university.

• Semi-finalist in the IV International Piano Competition Halina Czerny-Stefańska in Memoriam, Poznań (2017)
• Special Diploma in the 6th International Competition of Pianists in the Memory of Vera Lotar-Shevchenko in Yekaterinburg, Russia (2016)
• 2nd prize in the 2nd Alion Baltic International Piano Competition in Tallinn, Estonia (2016)
• 3rd prize in the 6th Halina and Ludwik Stefańscy Piano Tournament in Cracow in open group (2015) and 2nd Prize and Special Prize in youth group (2012)
• 6-time laureate in the International Chopin’s Piano Festival in Mazovia, Sochaczew (most recent in 2013)
• 3rd prize in the 1st International Leopold Godowski Piano Competition in Warsaw (2013)
• 1st degree distinction in the Examination of Piano Students from second-degree music schools, Centre of Artistic Education (2012)
• 2nd degree distinction in the 1st Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Warsaw, National Frederic Chopin Institute in Warsaw (2012)
• Distinction and special prize in the 19th International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Szafarnia (2011)

He gave concerts in prestigious cultural venues such as: Royal Castle in Warsaw, Chopin Museum in Warsaw, The Birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, Chopin Airport and others.

He is a very active pianist, often and gladly giving concerts both as dedicated performances and during festivals in Poland and abroad. He also adores performances with chamber ensembles.
He has got a wide repertoire, in which his favourite composers, such as Fryderyk Chopin and Johannes Brahms, take a special place.
His commitment to acquiring knowledge and new abilities is also confirmed by winning three, out of three possible, rector’s scholarship for the best FCUM students, and other distinctions for his high academic performance and artistic achievements.
Currently, he has devoted himself to exploring the secrets of historical performance of Fryderyk Chopin’s music on period pianos and is the Polish candidate to the First International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments organised by Fryderyk Chopin Institute in September 2018.
