Kamil Borkowski was born in 1991 in Warsaw. In 1998-2007 he was a pupil in Emil Mlynarski
Music School in Warsaw, where he was studying with prof. Marzena Jasinska (1998-2006)
and prof. Alicja Paleta-Bugaj (2005-2006). In 2007 he started his high-school- education in
Zenon Brzewski Music School in Warsaw, as a student of prof. Elzbieta Karas – Krasztel.
He gave performances in Philharmonies across the whole country, as well as abroad (Austria,
Finland, Spain, Canada, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy). He also took part in
various piano competitions e.g. in the National Chopin Piano Competition in Jelenia Gora in
2002 (3rd prize and a special award), in the 16th International Bach Competition in Gorzow
Wielkopolski in 2004 (2nd prize), in the 3rd International Chopin Piano Competition for
Children in Jelenia Gora in 2005 (semi-finalist), in the Polish – German Piano Competition in
Zgorzelec in 2009 (1st prize and three special awards), in the National Piano Competition in
Zabrze in 2009 (1st prize and a special award)
He took part in many music workshops in Poland (Duszniki-Zdroj, Olsztyn, Rzeszow) and
abroad e.g. in Mount Royal College in Calgary (Canada) in 2002.
For his music achievements he received in 2009 the Scholarship of Polish Ministry of Culture
and National Heritage.
He is currently a student at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, prof. Jerzy
Sterczynski’s piano class.
