Piotr Nowak

Piotr Nowak was born in Miastko (Poland) in 1993, and at the age of six he began his music education. He attended the Fryderyk Chopin Primary Music School in Mr. Aleksander Murawski’s and Ms. Helena Ostrolucka’s piano classes and the Oskar Kolberg Secondary School in Szczecinek in Ms. Helena Ostrolucka’s and Prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydron’s classes. He graduated with honors master of music in the class of prof. Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń at Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz

He is considered one of the best young pianists in Poland. Piotr has been awarded in many piano competitions, such as the 5th International Chopin Piano Competition in Hartford, USA (2nd Prize, 2014), the 17th International Piano Festival in Nałęczów in Poland (1st Prize, 2013), the 44th National Chopin Piano Competition organized by the National Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw (2nd Prize, 2012), the 8th International Competition “Chopin Golden Ring” in Radovljica, Slovenia (1st Prize, 2012), the International Competition for Young Pianists “Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam” in Bydgoszcz (3rd Prize, 2011), the 7th National Piano Festival “Chopin Interpretations of Young Pianists” in Konin-Żychlin (Grand Prix, 2011). He was among the 2nd stage finalists of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2015).

He has participated in many piano courses with such professors as Dang Thai Son, Kevin Kenner, Arie Vardi , Choong Mo-Kang, Lee Kum-Sing, John Perry, Andrzej Jasiński, Nikolai Demidenko, Dmitrij Bashkirov.

Piotr has performed in USA, Japan, Great Britain, Australia, South Korea, Canada, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Slovenia. He has played recitals in Warsaw during official visits of the presidents of France, Mongolia, Czech Republic, Armenia and Greece Republic.

He has cooperated with orchestras of the Polish Radio, Iuventus Orchestra, Mozart Virtuoso Orchestra, and several polish philharmonic orchestras. He is a scholarship holder of the ministerial project “Young Poland”. He was awarded with the “My talent for Poland Prize” by the former Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, as well as received awards from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Mayor of Bydgoszcz and Mayor of Solec Kujawski.
